As business owners, most of us know we know we should  be showing up on social media consistently. But that’s not always easy! Between carpools and kid’s activities… shooting and editing… running a business and trying to manage everything else that is on our plates, it's easy to let showing up on social media take a back seat.

In order to keep growing and expanding our reach, it’s imperative that we position ourselves… and our businesses... in the places that our clients and our potential clients are!

Social media continues to grow at an amazing pace. At a 45% use rate, almost half of the world’s population is now on social media! (Source: Statista) At the end of 2018 Facebook had 2.32 billion monthly active users. (Source: We Are Social)

So this isn’t a question of whether or not you SHOULD be on social media… it’s how and where. Video gets 12 times more shares than text and static images combined... so creating video content that you can quickly and easily share with your followers automatically puts you ahead of the algorithm curve!

1) PRIORITZE!

When it comes to creating and sharing content for your own brand, you’ll want to be where your clients are.

Do you specialize in weddings? Do a little research and find out where your brides and couples love to shop, spend their time and where they are on social media (Hint, IG & Pinterest are HUGE for those planning their big day). Do you focus on Seniors? Switch it up and check out Snapchat… Are families your jam? Newborns & toddlers? You get the idea... Put the majority of your time and energy where your clients and potential clients are the most!

Your clients are already there. So share your work, your process, the products you offer in the places that they are the most and get personal as often as you can.

2) SCHEDULE AHEAD!

The more you show up on social media, the more you’ll be seen by Facebook and Instagram (and anywhere else you show up on social!) as important. Showing up 2 to 3 times a day is great for shaking up those algorithms, but just the thought is pretty exhausting right? What if you could spend just one day a week creating content for all of your social media channels and spend the rest of the week just engaging with the comments that roll in?

Life happens… Kids get sick, wedding season kicks into high gear and you just don’t have time to create content every.single.day! And you shouldn’t… Apps like Buffer, Later and Planoly allow you to create content days, weeks and even months ahead of time across multiple social platforms.

Get into a rhythm!

Pick one day a week that is a bit slower and set aside 45 minutes to plan out the week ahead. Find a quiet spot to work… crank up your favorite playlist and get ready to get creative!

This isn’t the time to be searching for content… it’s just time to crank that content out. Creating a folder on your desktop that you regularly drop your favorite images and Vivi videos  into will make it fast and easy to pull in images to go with each of your posts.
